South Down Sheep from the Flock belonging to the late John Ellman, Esq.

Published by George Baxter in 1836 as the frontispiece to his father's publication The Agricultural Annual and later as the frontispiece to The Agricultural Gleaner and also to the Horticultural Supplement.

Mr. J. C. Ellman did a great deal to improve the Southdown sheep, and this fine specimen is shown in front of an extensive view of the Sussex Weald.

This early print by George Baxter was one of the specimens enrolled by him with the specification of his patent in April, 1836.
