This and many similar subjects were used to illustrate the periodicals; The Leisure Hour, and Sunday at Home.

Durham Cathedral was published in the "Sunday at Home" for 1 November 1867.

"Sunday at Home" was a weekly Family Magazine for Sabbath Reading published by The Religious Tract Society.

Although Kronheim & Co. were still using the Baxter process in 1867 this type of publication called for a cheaper form of production.
