Published by George Baxter in 1853 (Baxter’s Number 58). CL no.353.
Baxter advertised this print in February 1854 as follows:
"From the beautiful painting by that talented artist Miss F. Corbaux, which was so admired by Her Majesty at the Exhibition, and elicited the highest encomiums of the public press.
Each copy is a perfect facsimile of the original picture executed on a large scale, and forming the most beautiful drawing-room picture ever published."
Produced from a steel plate, fourteen metal and some engraved wooden colour blocks.
Originally sold at 10s. 6d.
Baxter Process Print, size 38 x 27.5 cm.
Usually signed bottom right in 5 lines; “London, Published by the Proprietor, George Baxter, Patentee, 11 & 12 Northampton Square, March 1st 1854.”
